• To facilitate introduction of Sustainable Development concept in the training of decision-makers, researchers and teachers and foster environmentally aware attitudes, skills and behaviour patterns, as well as a sense of ethical responsibility within the European Union and beyond its borders
• To encourage and enable highly qualified graduates and scholars from all over the world to obtain qualifications in Sustainable Development in the European Union
• To facilitate academic mobility (students, teachers, researchers) between European Union and third-country institutions that carry out education and research in Sustainable Development
• To enhance mutual awareness and understanding and to help strengthen Europe’s cultural presence in China, Latin America and former Soviet Union countriesGNSD is open for individuals with affiliation to Universities and Institutes.

Areas where SDPromo will focus its activities

• Survey on best experiences of EU Universities in introducing Sustainable Development concept in higher education and curricula greening 
• Collecting and analysis of information on available Master and PhD courses in Sustainable Development as well as training courses in SD for local authorities, industries and other public and private organization in Europe
• Publishing a brochure on best practices and available Master, PhD and training courses to attract students from third countries to study in Europe and to facilitate academic exchanges and cooperation in SD
